University Medical Center
UMC is nationally renowned for heart and cancer care. UMC is also the only comprehensive transplantation center in the Southwest, covering heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas and bone marrow transplantation. In all of these areas, UMC offers programs for adults and pediatric patients. UMC has the best open-heart surgery outcomes in Arizona and, according to U.S. News & World Report, July 1999, one the top five survival rates in the United States for heart procedures.
The Arizona Cancer Center at UMC is the only comprehensive cancer center in the southwest designated by the National Cancer Institute. Recently a program focusing on pancreatic cancer was added, along with a number of new research protocols to give new hope to people facing this disease.
More than 100 of the affiliated physicians are rated by their peers as the Best Doctors in America. Located at the Arizona Health Sciences Center (adjacent to the University of Arizona in Tucson), UMC is a private, nonprofit hospital.

TMC's campus also serves as home to the Tucson Orthopaedic Institute, the Cancer Care Center of Southern Arizona and the Children's Clinics for Rehabilitative Services, a private, not-for-profit corporation affiliated with TMC and University Medical Center in Tucson.
